Technology Surveillance

In the aim of this area is to detect current information of interest in order to promote the generation of knowledge in the field of Food Safety, using several methods and sources to do so. One of these sources of information comes from Elika’s participation in the European Networks and Platforms with the main European Food Safety agencies and organisations.

After obtaining and processing information, the knowledge generated internally is used in our daily work both for our Corporate web site and the weekly bulletin ELIKABerri, which have gradually become our main channels for disseminating information.

The day-to-day work of the Technology Surveillance area involves:

• Seeking, obtaining and processing information from a large number of databases, publications, agency web sites, reference entities and institutions in Food Safety.
• Internal use of the information in all areas and disciplines of Elika.
• Dissemination of information maintaining a constant flow of information through our web site and the ELIKABerri bulletin.
• Seeking an participating in European networks in which the strategies and interest in Food Safety are defined.
• Coordination with the Innovation & Technology Development Office of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, technology centres, universities and agrofoods industries in the management and development of activities of the different networks in which Elika takes part.
