REJECTED ELECTRONIC IDENTIFICATION IN CATTLE 12/09/21

On 11 September, the European Parliament rejected the amendment calling for compulsory compulsory electronic identification of cattle in 10 years.


The review may be revised over a period of five years after a study of the effectiveness of the voluntary identification of these animals to be carried out by the European Commission.


According to the Parliament, each country may make mandatory electronic identification within national law but only after consulting the beef sector in each country.

NEW SPANISH REGULATION IN ORDER TO CONTROL OF THE UNDERDONE MILK 11/11/30

It published the Royal Decree 1600/2011, of both amending the Royal Decree 217/2004, on the identification of operators in the dairy sector, and Royal Decree 1728/2007 of recording movements milk.


The new regulation incorporates the requirements for producers of raw milk from sheep and goats.

 

IDENTIFICATION OF HORSES: CHANGES IN REGULATIONS 11/11/24

The Council of Ministers approved on 18 November, a Royal Decree amending the current rules on identification and registration of equine farms (current regulations: Royal Decree 1515/2009 of 2 October, establishing a system for identifying and registration of animals of the equine species).
